Don’t Let this Drink get you Fat

January 19th, 2012 by Ingrid Macher posted in: Diets, Healthy Eating, Motivation, Weight Loss

I was just as guilty as the next person about being a soda drinker. Back in the days when I was over weight, I drank about 5 sodas a day… easy. But as soon as I got pregnant with my youngest daughter, Mia, my doctor quickly informed me why I should stay away of such soft drinks. Read the rest of this entry »

Get an All Over Burn with Pilates

January 18th, 2012 by Ingrid Macher posted in: Body Sculpting, Exercise, How To’s, Weight Loss

Every once in a while, I like to throw my body for a loop and exercise in a new and different way that it’s not used to. How to Stay Fit After 40

Think back to your twenties, do you remember when you realized that you could no longer eat whatever you wanted to? January 10th, 2012 by Ingrid Macher posted in: Diets, Healthy Eating, Weight Loss

Have you ever wondered why they call grapefruit, grapefruit? It’s a silly question but I always thought it was a strange name for it. I mean, it’s not in the grape family, it’s in the citrus family. Growing up, I often questioned this and the other day in the supermarket, my daughter asked me the same question. Read the rest of this entry »

This Oil has More Nutrients Than Fish Oil!

January 5th, 2012 by Ingrid Macher posted in: Healthy Eating, Motivation, Weight Loss

I’ve made it very clear in the past how much I love fish oil. It was the oil fish-type oil I was used to and took it religiously. That is, until I heard about the awesomeness of cod liver oil. Many people think the two are the same, and in some aspects they are, but while they are both great for you, cod liver oil has some extra benefits that I love. Read the rest of this entry »

Benefits of a sauna

Sweat it Out in a Sauna

Who doesn’t love a good skin detox? I know I do. I love to go into the sauna from time to time and just relax and let the heat sweat my toxins away.

A sauna session truly makes me feel as though I’m cleaning out my pores. As your body heat rises, your pores begin to open up and allows all of the bacteria and germs flow from your body.

I love to use a sauna as my detox a lot because it is completely natural and I don’t have to be too strict on my diet like when I’m doing a whole body detox, inside and out. Read the rest of this entry »
