Is Oolong Tea the Best Tea… Ever?
October 18th, 2011 by Ingrid Macher
Call me crazy, but I’ve been hearing rumors about Oolong Tea burning 250% more fat than green tea for quite some time now. You heard correctly! I know, I had to clean out my ears the first time I heard it too. I mean, a tea that can burn that much fat seems too good to be true. I had to immediately do my research to see what the deal was. I learned that it was all natural and great for your health, so I decided to give it a try.
While I was at Whole Foods, one of the employees had to show me where it was because after looking for 20 minutes, I still couldn’t find it. When we walked up to the shelve, I saw that there was only one more left. Well, next thing I know, I’m playing tug-a-war with another woman over this tea. I was shocked that she tried to grab it right out of my hands. Needless to say, you guys know me and I got my tea back (brushes shoulders off and fixes hair). The employee informed me that that actually happens a lot! The tea is apparently so popular, it sells out after a day and people always end up fighting over what’s left. Wow, this must be some special stuff.
After two days, I could tell a difference. I wasn’t bloated or crampy anymore. My stomach felt light and … well, great! I can see the weight loss after a couple of weeks and I am shocked that there is anything out there like this.
But there is and it’s called Oolong Tea. This is actually a type of tea that’s been around for centuries. It’s been used in Asia for hundreds of years to control weight loss.
Oolong Tea and Weight Loss
There are many different kinds of Oonlong teas made by different manufacturers. You should understand that the Oolong tea we are referring to in this post is also known as Wulong Tea. The reason that this Oolong/Wulong tea is better than other Oolong teas is because of the geographic location is was grown at. Wulong tea is more concentrated do to being grown in a higher altitude. More concentrated=More fat burning. As great as green tea is for you, with 250% more fat burning, I had to do the switch. But shhh, don’t tell that to my green tea, he’d be heart broken. Green tea will forever be my favorite, but Oolong tea was a nice change with some killer benefits.
Other Oolong Tea Health Benefits
While all three teas are undoubtedly great for anyone’s healthy, Oonlong tea has a large quantity of polyphenol. It’s believed that polyphenol is the ingredient that generates the delicious flavor unique to oolong tea and also promotes beauty and health. Also, as we get older, the amount of free radicals (bad atoms that cause health problems) within the body increases naturally. Free radicals are also formed when we are exposed to ultra-violet rays, stress, take in chemical food additives, smoke of tobacco, and/or when we are involved in too much exercise. These bad atoms can cause adult diseases, such as arteriosclerosis and diabetes, as well as dark spots and wrinkles on the skin. Women in particular fear the side effects of free radicals. The antioxidants from the Oolong tea help control these free radicals which is something we need to always keep a look out as we age.
