Looking for something to rev up your weight loss? A few years ago, I was too.
When I lost most of the weight I wanted to lose, I had a hard time shedding those last couple of stubborn pounds. I tried extra cardio, but that only burned off some of the muscle I was trying to build. I changed up my diet a little bit, but I found I wasn’t eating enough to have the day-long energy I was used too.
I wanted to be strong, not skinny. I wanted to lose the last bit of body fat to really define my muscles. I asked the experts what I should do in order to accomplish this goal. All of them recommended the same thing- conjugated linoleic acid (CLA).
CLA comes from red meat, but pretty much only when it’s raw. It also comes from the cows milk, but you’d have to drink way more than the daily recommended amount of milk to get enough CLA to actually benefit you.
So to get CLA, you have to either eat raw red meat (I don’t recommend that!) or chug a whole lot of milk straight from the cow (I don’t recommend that either!).
Studies show CLA reduces fat and preserves muscle tissue
Health Benefits of CLA
Enhance Muscle Growth – Muscle burns fat and contributes to increased metabolism, which is useful in weight loss and management. This is because the more muscle you have, the more fat your body is able to burn for a longer period of time.
Enhances Immune System– No-a-days bacteria and germs are everywhere. We all know this because we carry around a bottle of hand sanitizer like it’s gum. However that may not always do the trick. CLA helps enhance the functions of your immune system and promotes a healthy immune system.
Lowers Cholesterol and Triglycerides– Since many people these days have high cholesterol and triglyceride levels, many adults would benefit from take CLA to help lower these issues.
Lowers Insulin Resistance– Lowering insulin resistance has been shown to help prevent adult diabetes and make it easier to control weight.
Increased Metabolic Rate – This would be a great benefit for any type of athlete that is simply trying to lose weight and improve their body’s figure.
Reduces Allergic Reactions From Food– Since food allergies can arise anytime someone is changing their diet, they may be prone to food allergies they’ve never known about. CLA will help calm food allergies.
So how do you get this CLA I speak of?
You do not need a prescription and most nutrition stores carry a CLA supplement. The ideal amount of the CLA supplement is about 3400 mg per day, which is 4 of these capsules a day, with meals. I’ve even been noticing that GNC and other nutrition stores added CLA to their women’s vitamin packs they have pre-made.
I definitely recommend talking to your physician to see if you can benefit from taking CLA. Since using it, I saw a huge improvement in my muscle definition. It was a win-win situation. I still take CLA and it’s one of my favorite suppliments I take on a daily basis.
