Lack of this Vitamin may Lead you Towards Depression- It Happened to Me

Vitamin B12

Today I want to talk about something a little more serious. Everything that I talk about is important, but this condition specifically affected my life. It’s very common in women and may be affecting yours as well.

A short time after I had my youngest daughter Mia, my personality changed dramatically. I wasn’t sure what was going on, but I knew I wasn’t being myself.

Normally, as you may have learned by now, I am a positive, outgoing, energetic woman. I am always ready to have a conversation and I rarely get tired. My friends even used to call me a little energizer bunny!

Once Mia was born, I took to a very different mental shape. I was tired all of the time and found that I was being very lazy. I never wanted to get out of bed and once I did get up for the day, I was exhausted by noon.

Although I knew it was strange, I figured it was a little lazy phase and would pass.

A while later, nothing changed. I ran into a friend, who was also my doctor, and she could tell something was not right. I told her my symptoms and she told me to come into her office first thing Monday morning.

Come to find out, I had Adrenal Fatigue*. This is a condition that truly takes over your life without your control. Most people don’t even know they have it, which is why it is so common- it gets untreated. My doctor told me that vitamin B12 would help with this condition and help me balance my life again.

Symptoms of B12 Deficiency

  • Fatigue
  • Poor memory
  • Depression
  • Laziness
  • Hard to concentrate
  • Irritable
  • Tiredness

To help my vitamin B12 deficiency, my doctor gave me B12 shots three times a week. With in a month or two, I was back feeling like my old self! Sometimes it only takes a few months, for other people it may take years, even a lifetime.

You don’t have to take it as a shot. The shot just makes sure it gets through you body quicker. Health stores have a vitamin B12 pill or tablet many people can take.

If you feel you’re experiencing any or all of these symptoms, be sure to talk to your doctor about it first. They will be able to tell you the proper amount of B12 to take and for how long.

*If you are interested in learning more about Adrenal Fatigue, I will be writing an article on it shortly.
