Every day I meet many people everywhere I go, and they always ask, “what do you do to look so fit?” I tell them my story but they always say “oh! I don’t have any money to pay for a gym. I hate to workout by myself. I want to lose weight, but I don”t know how to do it. I don’t have the time to workout because of my job.”
I always answer to them, there are always alternatives. If you don’t have time to go to a gym – we all know life sometimes can be complicated, kids, husband, work, etc.. – you can do outdoor exercises. Many people enjoy to walk at different times in the day. I’d suggest going in the morning when your energy levels are high. The key is doing it more than 3 to 5 times a week for the same period of time. Start with 3 miles a day, pick your favorite place, like the beach the park or your own neighborhood. If you are a new mommy, pushing the stroller is a great workout, it will help you to burn more calories. Take your dog for a walk – not only you exercise, but your pet too. Make sure you always carry a cold bottle of water so you don’t get dehydrated.
Find something that you really like. Dance lessons are a great and fun workout, you can burn a lot of calories doing it. Take the kids to the park, get involved in their games, run around, kick the ball, jump with them, practice their sports, like basketball or soccer. Go hiking with your family – not only you exercise, but you share quality time with them if your life is busy on weekdays.
Community centers always have cheap programs that you can enjoy for a little amount of money, they offer spinning , yoga, pilates classes, and more. There are so many options to stay active!
Whatever is your plan, either go to the gym or exercise outside to make the old model go away, and bring the new ‘super you’ out, be sure to pick the activity that you enjoy the best and do it!
