If You Want A Slim And Sexy Body… Throw Away The Scale!

July 3rd, 2012 by Ingrid Macher

What I’m about to tell you may be considered shocking…

But I know from experience, it is absolutely true.

It’s a simple way to speed up your weight loss progress… while ending the frustration you feel whenever you hit a plateau.

It takes literally seconds to do… yet it’s a little “weird”, so most people would never even think of doing it. But in the next few minutes, you’ll discover exactly why it needs to be done.

So, listen up. If you really want to achieve a slim and sexy body…

You Gotta Throw Away Your Scale!

I know it sounds crazy, but hear me out, because I know what you’re thinking…

“But Ingrid, without the scale, how am I going to track my progress? I won’t be able to see if what I’m doing works!”

But that’s exactly why you need to throw it away!

You see, whenever people begin their weight loss journey (and I was guilty of this myself), they become obsessed with the scale.

Stepping on it at every free moment… allowing it to control how they feel…

If the pounds are down, you feel like you’re on top of the world, with happiness pouring out of you…

Yet if the scale won’t budge… or God forbid, you even gained a pound, suddenly it feels like your whole world has been shattered.

This behavior puts you into a defeated mindset… and as we know, mindset is the most important factor when it comes to losing weight!

By constantly obsessing over what the scale says, you’re taking away focus that should be spent on developing healthy eating habits.

When you start your day off getting frustrated by the morning scale, you’re wasting energy that could be used on a kick-ass fat-blasting workout!

Energy you need to get a slim and sexy body… wasted… and for no good reason.

I know you might find this hard to believe (especially if you’re just starting out), but how much you weigh each day does not matter. You should not be relying on your day-to-day weight. It isn’t a good way of tracking progress.

Because your day-to-day weight depends on too many factors…

From what you’ve eaten so far… to how hydrated you are… to how long it’s been since you last went to the bathroom… and many other factors too complicated to get into here.

Look…

Even if you’ve done everything right, you aren’t going to be losing weight each and every day.

It’s just not how our bodies work.

There’s a whole bunch of complicated processes that go with weight loss, and some of these have to balance out before you see any difference on the scale…

But honestly, that’s OK! It doesn’t matter.

What DOES matter is that you’re making consistent progress… making steady changes…

From week to week… month to month…

And most of these changes you’ll be getting…

Don’t Even Show Up On The Scale!

Look, let’s say you’ve been eating healthy. You’ve been cutting out the junk food and sticking to delicious, nutritious foods for your meal choices. You feel great. Your motivation and enthusiasm are at an all-time high. Getting through your daily responsibilities feels like a breeze…

In fact, you have so much energy to spare… you decided to start some new fat-blasting workouts. And after giving these workouts everything you got, you built yourself three
pounds of lean, shapely muscle… the type of muscle that really accentuates your curves.

Yet when you step on the scale… your weight stays the same.

So you get discouraged.

Even though you dropped 3 pounds of fat, toning up your arms, and tightening your waistline…

Even though you’re already starting to look and feel sexier and healthier…

The scale makes it look like you’ve failed!

And this can cause many people to quit. Because they wrongly think that they aren’t making progress, when in actuality, they’re on the right track and are so close to making a head-turning transformation.

The scale hid their results. And that’s why it should be your last resort when tracking your progress.

Throw it away! Or at the least, keep it in the closet and weigh yourself once a month.

In the meantime… rely on how you look and feel.

Use the mirror as your guide. If you’re starting to like what you see, then you know you’re on the right track.

Or another way… which has really made a huge difference for me… is take pictures!

Put on a bathing suit and take pictures of yourself in it. This can be your “before” picture… and serves as great motivation for you.

Let some time pass. Time you’ll be using to eat healthy and do some fat blasting workouts. You want to wait at least two weeks here.

Then… you’ll put that bathing suit back on and take another set of pictures. If you’ve been doing what you’re supposed to, you’ll start to see changes in your body!

Keep this process up, taking pictures every two weeks or so… by the time you’re on your 4th or 5th set of pictures… you’ll be shocked and amazed at how different you look.

Your progress will be obvious.

If you want to step back on the scale at this point, feel free…

But my guess is, you won’t even want to. Because you’ll have proven to yourself that it’s only a distraction.

Try this method instead… put the scale away, and I promise you, you’ll notice a huge difference!

Just give it a shot. Let it work for you…

And as always, if you have any questions, leave me a comment in the section below.

I’d love to know how often you’re currently weighing yourself, to see how much of a distraction it’s been for you… so please, share it with us!

I do weigh myself everyday, maybe up to 3 times a day. That's only because the scale is right there to step on. I am going to try this and put the scale up and away.

This make a lot of sense. I have been working with a trainer for the past four weeks. When I look in the mirror I see some curves stating and a tighter chest starting. But when I get on the scale it shows only 2 pounds off. Then I get frustrated and eat something I shouldn't. Maybe what is happening is I am building muscles. I am going stay off the scale and let my cloths( that are already feeling looser), tell me how I am doing.

This is so true. I am guilty of stepping on it even though I know the facts. Funny how a scale can put us in a good mood or bad…not right.
