Fat-Blasting Breakfast Ideas!
August 2nd, 2012 by Ingrid Macher
You know that I’m a strong believer in building momentum.
Nothing we do stands alone. It’s all connected. Every action we take affects our next action. Every decision we make affects the next decision.
So when we’re trying to lose fat, it’s important we start our day off right.
And the key to accomplishing that is by eating a healthy breakfast.
Breakfast is the most important meal of the day for several different reasons.
The first reason is simple to understand.
Breakfast is the first meal of the day, which means we’ve spent the last several hours sleeping (hopefully at least six hours if you want to burn fat, but that’s a topic for another day). That means our bodies haven’t received any nutrients for several hours. They haven’t received any nourishment.
So it’s important we give it that nourishment. Our metabolism slows down when it doesn’t
have any food to process. In order to give it the kick-start it needs to start burning fat, we need to provide it with good nutritious food.
The second reason comes down to what I mentioned earlier.
Since breakfast is the first meal of the day, we need it to set the tone for the rest of the day. We don’t want to start the day off by making bad decisions that will set us back further from our goals.
We want to get closer to our goals each and every day.
Reaching these goals requires focus and concentration…
It also requires energy. So we need our breakfast to provide us with this energy. The energy that will carry us throughout the day…
Through all the tasks we have to get done… and our fat-blasting workouts that help us shed
those pesky extra pounds.
We want our breakfast to provide us with long-lasting energy. We should be relying on healthy
carbohydrates to provide this energy. Think complex and fibrous carbohydrates. We also want
a healthy serving of protein to keep our muscles primed for action and our metabolism moving along at full speed.
That’s The Key To Burning Fat
Throughout The Day!
Breakfast is a great time to incorporate any of the seven special fat-burning foods I told you about last week. If you missed out on that, you can check it out here:
But I don’t want to leave it up to chance. While you can certainly mix and match those
fat-burning foods to form a delicious meal, I wanted to make it easy for you.
I wanted to give you a blueprint you can rely on.
So I’m going to show you some of my favorite breakfast ideas!
These are the meals I personally rely on for the energy and concentration it takes to get through my days:
1/2 cup plain oatmeal, cooked with water
1 scoop of chocolate protein powder
1/2 cup of blueberries
This easy-to-prepare breakfast has it all. It actually contains not one… but two of the special fat-burning foods I told you about last week. The oatmeal is a great source of nutrients and energy-rich complex carbohydrates. The chocolate protein powder adds taste and helps to speed up your metabolism. The berries add fiber and the antioxidants you need to stay healhy.
1/2 cup ground turkey meat prepared with chopped onions & tomatoes or mexican salsa
4 egg whites
1 slice ezekiel bread toasted (2 slices for men)
This high-protein breakfast tastes great… while really giving our metabolism the kick-start
it needs to start burning fat. The turkey and egg whites (another fat-burning food) pack a
powerful one-two protein punch. The onions, tomatoes and salsa provide fibrous carbohydrates. The Ezekiel bread gives us vitamins and energy through its healthy complex
1/2 cup plain oatmeal, cooked with water
1/3 cup walnuts
1 tbsp Agave for flavor
Here’s another combo of fat-burning foods to start off your day right. The oatmeal provides nutrients and energy through its complex carbs. The walnuts provide minerals and healthy
fats. The agave is a natural sweetener that adds taste to the meal.
2 slices ezekiel bread, dipped in 3 egg-whites to make French Toast
top with 1 tbsp agave or honey
1/2 cup strawberries
This healthy version of French Toast is loaded with fat-burning foods. The Ezekiel bread provides those valuable complex carbs. The eggs bring the protein. The strawberries help
satisfy that sweet tooth, while providing fiber and vitamins.
So there you have it.
Four quick meals you can rely on. Eat whichever one most appeals to you. Either way,
you can feel confident that it’s going to provide you with everything you need to start
your day off right.
Forget the sugary cereals… these are the real breakfasts of champions!
But remember…. make sure you never leave the house without eating your breakfast.
Even if you don’t feel particularly hungry when you wake up… because by the time noon
comes around, and everyone around you is getting sluggish and cranky… you’ll be glad you
