Why fish oil?
Fish oil means Omega 3, also known as fatty acids. But, why all this fuss around this “good” fat? Because Omega 3 is considered an essential fatty acid for the human body that is not self-produced by it, so it needs to be consumed through foods like fish, such as salmon, tuna, sardines, herring, halibut, and other seafoods; also in algae and other plants and nut oils.
Why are those “good” fats necessary for your body? Because they help your body to fight inflammation, create healthy skin and hair, help brain function, improve heart health, decelerate the aging process, and increase sexual drive performance. Not only that, but also it has been recently proven by several scientific studies that Omega 3 fish oil helps you to lose weight. The Omega 3 fatty acids activate the enzymes responsible for burning fat, in combination with exercise activity which increases the oxygen intake and increases the metabolism rate which has the effect of burning more fat and losing weight.
My advice is to add Omega 3 capsules to your daily supplement routine. You’ll get more oil and you won’t need to eat a salmon per day in order to be healthy. Capsules have the added advantage of being less expensive than the actual food, and are easy to take. You can find them in pharmacies, supermarkets or natural stores. In my case I take flax seed oil pills 1000 mg every day because they not only have Omega 3, but also contain a high amount of fiber which is necessary in your process to lose weight.
So, if you don’t know what to buy this Christmas season to somebody special, what about giving the best present – “health” in a bottle of Omega 3?
