Benefits of Green Tea for Weight Loss

I always hear about the benefits of green tea, so I tried it myself and it actually works. It is scientifically proven that green tea burns calories and absorbs fat, including sugar. Did you know that grean tea contains high amounts of polyphenols which is an enzyme that is responsible for dissolving excess triglycerides? Triglyceride is used as a source of energy for life support and physical activities and are very necessary. The excess amounts of triglycerides turn into fat which subsequently causes obesity. Green tea is the most effective aid in burning fat.

Green tea stimulates the metabolism and accelerates weight loss because it contains powerful antioxidants. The EGCG (Epigallocatechin gallate) along with the caffeine stimulates the central nervous system and causes fat to be released into the blood stream for the body to use as fuel. This process of the fat being used for energy is called “thermogenesis”. It provides extra energy, sheds excess water, and also helps to burn body fat and it will also help you to exercise longer.

Green tea also helps to prevent your body from absorbing fats from the food you are eating. Also it’s used in weight loss because it helps your body to regulate its blood sugar levels wich then helps to reduce those food cravings that everyone gets while dieting.

Green tea in weight loss promotes the burning of fat so that your muscles can stay strong. Even when you have reached your goal weight you should still use green tea for its long term benefits as an antioxidant and metabolism booster. And remember, green tea has less caffeine than coffe and regular teas so it’s less harmful for your body.

In my own experience I have to say that green tea has been an amazing tool for my weight loss process. I use it every morning before I hit the gym and it helps me to increase my energy and perform better in my exercise routines, plus I don’t crash like I used to with coffee. I’m proud to say that I have stopped drinking coffe since I found that green tea has so many benefits and is more healthy for my body, helps me to lose weight, increases my energy levels, and eliminates my cravings for sugar.

So if you are one those persons that don’t like to take pills or have medical problems, here is another alternative you can try for weight loss. Green tea, with the combination of exercise and a moderate diet will be affective in your process to lose weight in the long run!!

  1. Great article – I have since given green tea a try (which once I said I hated and couldn’t drink). Since I am a avid dark tea drinker, it was not easy to switch over to me. I started out by trying the Yogi blueberry green tea which had a fruity flavor, you suggested I try and got used to it and liked it. Now I drink plain green tea with no sweeteners and love it. I gave up the coffee habit and have a glass on the way to the gym and feel invigorated too. Thanks for the great advice once again.
