Detox Diets for Weight Loss

Detox Diets for Weight Loss

In these days our bodies are exposed to toxins, like the environment, food, drinks, stressful lifestyle (for instance alcohol, tobacco, pesticides, heavy metals, food additives, oral contraceptives and drugs) etc. It’s important to be aware that all of this can cause our bodies tremendous damage to the skin, the lymphatic system, the intestines, liver, lungs and kidneys; that’s why detoxing plays an important role in our health. Even the body has mechanisms for eliminating toxins, such as breathing, sweating, urinating and bowel movements, but it’s not enough, it needs a little bit of help.

Detoxing is not about starvation – in fact it’s quite the opposite. Detoxing involves giving your body a break from anything toxic, so that your body can work these toxins out of your system. A successful detoxing will help you to experience: more energy, clear skin, weight loss, brighter eyes, a stronger immune system, greater mental clarity, increased self-confidence and when necessary, a great boost against illness. A detox basically cleanses your body and makes you feel like you are bursting with energy to the top the world.

The question everybody asks is – “why detoxing for loss weight?” Because the fat that we eat is saving our lives, protecting our vital organs from the toxins that we ingest daily. However, the excess fat generates a bad physical condition and disease, so when you detox and cleanse your body from the toxins, we give our bodies the chance to repair and strengthen itself – and when the toxins disappear, the fat disappears too!

Getting ready for a successful detox starts with planning the day. Be ready to experience some physical symptoms like headaches and stomach aches. It’s normal as the toxins are coming out of your body, that’s why it’s important to fallow the instructions, and the diet that comes with some of the products that you can buy in natural stores or health stores. Start with doing it on your days off – eliminate coffee, tobacco, sodas, prescription drugs, processed food and sugar. Make sure to drink a lot of water, it’s only a week – you can do it!!

One of the most common questions is about “can I exercise when I’m detoxing?” and the fact is, it’s recommended to do aerobic exercise to help your body to eliminate toxins fast. Some examples are Yoga, power walking, rebounding, swimming or cycling. Definitely no lifting, because that can cause tremendous amounts of stress in your muscles.

Start to detox your body by simple changes in your eating habits, eat more vegetables and fruit, drink a lot of water throughout the day and eliminate happy hours too often. You can still having fun, but in different ways. How about going to interesting places like Yoga on the beach, or a dance studio, or swimming aerobics?

Whatever you do, remember that the cleaner your body is, the better you will look and feel.
